Thank you for visiting the BSAC website and reviewing our Privacy Policy. The purpose of this policy is to explain how BSAC treats information we collect from you during your visit to our website. All the information collected at this site will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, rented, loaned, or otherwise disclosed except that we may, at the request of the designated Point of Contact (POC) of a member company, provide information to them only about their own company site visitation statistics. Privacy Policy for All Visitors

When you visit our web site to read pages open to the general public, we automatically collect and store the following non-identifying information:

• The Internet protocol (IP) address from which you access our web site. An IP address is a unique number that is automatically assigned to the computer you are using whenever you are surfing the web.
• The type of browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
• The date and time our site is accessed.
• The pages visited, for the purpose of improving the usefulness of our web site by providing helpful links and removing pages that are not read.

Personally Identifiable Information

BSAC collects more specific information when you register for a password to log into and view private sections of our site, for example your name, email address, and phone number. Once you register for the BSAC website and log in, we additionally record information about the time and date of your visit to our site.

How We Collect Information

BSAC automatically collects and stores information in the following two ways:

A) general information, for example IP address, domain information, and organization information (i.e. “berkeley.edu.”) is collected when a user visits our website. This information is recorded on our server log files.

B) the traffic statistics of member companies are collected to allow us to provide relevant content to ALL companies. Your individual traffic information will not be used or disclosed outside BSAC, not even to your company, except to the extent and only when specifically required under Federal or California law. The only exception would be inquiries to the designated member company Point of Contact for the purpose of verifying current eligibility of inactive users who have not logged in for an extended period of time.

How We Use Information

These reporting tools help us identify the parts of our web site in which our users and members show an interest as well as learn the number of visitors to our site. This information helps us to improve the quality and usefulness of our site.

BSAC will never sell or otherwise provide your information or information about you, your affiliations, or your use of this site to any third party, nor will BSAC ever make solicitations to you on behalf of any third party. Security

We use “secure socket layer” during login to help protect the security of your personal information and prevent unauthorized access or improper use.
