Carolyn D. White received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University and a M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been employed by Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies and the National Institute of Standards and Technology and is currently with A. M. Fitzgerald & Associates in Burlingame, CA. Building on a background in mechanics of materials, she currently specializes in the design and fabrication of MEMS devices for a wide range of range of applications, including microfluidics, solar, and IR imaging. She also performs technology strategic analysis including of the evaluation of patent portfolios and acquisition targets, feasibility studies, and cost/performance analysis.
