Steven Neale received his undergraduate MSCi and then PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2002, and 2006, respectively, both in Physics. After completing his PhD he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at St Andrews in Prof Thomas F Krauss’s Microphotonics and Photonic Crystals research group for a further year before moving to the University of California Berkeley where he currently works under Prof Ming C. Wu. Steven’s research interests are in the combination of microfabrication technology with micromanipulation techniques (including optical tweezing and dielectrophoresis) to produce new tools for the study of biology and nanotechnology.
