Varun Boriah received his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology - Karnataka, India with an emphasis in fluid mechanics. He completed an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley with emphasis on applications of digital particle image velocimetry in micro-scale fluid devices. He was a summer intern in the Thermal/Fluid Science & Engineering Department at Sandia Labs in Livermore, California during June to August 2008. He is currently working as a Mechanical Engineer at a biomedical start up named ArKal Medical based in Fremont
