Caiwei Shen received his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 2010 and his M.S. degree in Microelectronics in 2013, both from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Currently he is a Ph.D. student in Prof. Liwei Lin's group in mechanical engineering, University of California at Berkeley. His research interests mainly focus on flexible supercapacitors and nanomaterials for flexible electronics.
Flexible Micro Supercapacitors [BPN782]
The integration of flexible electronics into every day clothing could find intriguing applications in medical care and consumer electronics. Flexible power devices are crucial to make such systems successful. Here we demonstrate high-performance coaxial fiber supercapacitors with the size of a single cotton fiber as promising building blocks for wearable power devices. Moreover, free-standing “supercapacitor fabrics” in the scale of square centimeters have been successfully woven.
