Photocatalylic Water Splitting for Hydrogen Production
Solar energy, which is sustainable and abundant energy source, can be converted by applying photoelectric effect of materials with suitable band gaps. This talk will focus on photocatalytic water splitting using nanomaterials of (1) highly reactive surfaces; and (2) inexpensive and dense nanostructures to facilitate high conversion efficiency. Initial results show about 100 times higher photo conversion effects on some of these nanostructures.
