Body Interface Electronics Powered by Bio-Fuel Cells

After reviewing some of the issues facing traditional
energy-scavenging approaches in the context of miniaturized electronic
devices interfacing with the human body, in this talk I will describe our work on powering these devices with glucose-based fuel cells. As will be discussed in the talk, ultra-low power circuit design techniques combined with optimized abiotic fuel cells may enable mm^3 systems supporting sensing
as well as wireless communications.
