Passive Proximity Sensors for Power Systems

Small MEMS piezo electric cantilever based sensors allow non-contact power measurements in retrofit or hazardous voltage environments where sheath penetration is undesired. Scavenging of small amounts of electrical energy from the energized conductors being monitored can power an associated submilliwatt radio to allow battery-less, wireless telemetry of measured power.
