Chemomechanical Nanomachine for Artificial Biomolecular Signal Transduction and Drug Delivery

We are developing a general class of nanomechanical devices which can be tailored to sense soluble biomolecules and transduce that detection into the release of a secondary species. We seek to demonstrate that these devices can be employed to achieve feedback-controlled and targeted drug delivery in response to free biomolecules, real time imaging of biomolecular signaling, and highly localized control of the cell signaling network.
