Optimal Energy Management with Intelligent, Wireless Control

Large complex facilities, such as data centers, consume a significant percentage of our country’s energy. In some of these facilities, half of the energy consumption goes to cooling. Although cooling is essential in these facilities, management of the cooling assets and their energy consumption is typically manual, with limited sensing and simple, local control. A combination of exponential growth, combined with environmental and political pressures, are forcing owners and operators of data centers and large facilities to improve energy management. I will review how wireless mesh networks help provide a reliable, non-intrusive and cost effective solution for optimizing cooling energy management in data centers and large buildings.
