IPv6 Integration Networking Demo
Low-power wireless communication is based on the IEEE802.15.4 standard. Coupled with the IEEE802.15.4e MAC protocol, wireless motes can have lifetimes of multiple years using commercially available batteries.
Using results from standardization working groups such as IETF 6LoWPAN, it is possible to connect every single low-power mote to the Internet. Every mote obtains an IPv6 address, and, together with the OpenWSN protocol stack is able to communicate with any computer on the Internet. This opens up exciting new possibilities.
The purpose of this presentation is to provide a hands-on demonstration of how motes can be connected to an IPv6 network.
