A Tesla Microturbine for Power Generation from Low Pressure Heads at Low Flows

This presentation describes the fluidic to mechanical power conversion methodology that is suitable to harvest energy from low flow systems at low pressure heads. Mimicking the transport of water in plants, we aim to harvest energy from evaporation driven flows that are in the range of cc/min. This will be achieved by fabricating Synthetic leaves for transpiration, Tesla microturbines that are rotated by the cohesive force of the evaporation pull and embedded electric power generators that are driven by the turbines.
