To set yourself up in BMAD, you need to get:
To access your EECS account space and PISANO-PROJECT folder on \\coeus, see the documentation of the Coeus page.
Getting an EECS AccountSetting up an EECS account will provide you with an IMAP email account (username@eecs.berkeley.edu) and 100MB of free disk space on \\coeus\home. You can use more than 100MB, but a yearly fee will be charged for the disk space you use above and beyond the original 100MB. Getting an EECS account will also give you access to the EECS domain of computers, which is the domain where the BMAD computers are located. Hence, to access computers in BMAD you MUST have an EECS account. To get your EECS account:
Accessing Your EECS Account via the Web:You can access your email via the Web (with your favorite Web browser) by following this link: https://imap.eecs.berkeley.edu/. Setting Up Email Programs:You can setup Outlook, Eudora, Pine, and/or Netscape to access your email from home or anywhere else. Check out the appropriate program under the "Setting up IMAP email" on http://cusg.eecs.berkeley.edu/Help/docs/. Accessing Your EECS Account:See the documentation on the Coeus page.
Getting a Corporate Time AccountA Corporate Time account will let you schedule meetings with Al and others in BMAD. It is the best way to get a hold of Al, aside from lassoing him between ERL and Etch. To get an account:
Accessing you Corporate Time Account from the Web:To access your account on the Web: https://cs1.cs.berkeley.edu/calendar/ctime/login.cgi Accessing you Corporate Time Account with the Netscape Calendar:You can use the Netscape 4.76 integrated calendar to access your Corporate Time Calendar. Follow the instructions on: http://cusg.eecs.berkeley.edu/Help/docs/calendar.html. Accessing you Corporate Time Account with other Programs:The company that makes Corporate Time is still trying to integrate it with the Outlook Calendar and other common email/calendaring programs. So, for now, Outlook and Corporate Time don't play together (nicely, at least).
Getting Added to the BSAC & BMAD Domains
Getting a Folder on PISANO-PROJECTThis is where you should keep all of your research-related material. I will set it up for you. So, after you've gotten your EECS account:
To access your PISANO-PROJECT folder, see the Coeus page. |
