| Abstract |
Controlling cell migration is integral to a variety of applications in both tissue engineering and medical device implantation. Mechanical properties of the substrate influence cell behavior and it has been previously demonstrated that certain cells migrate in the direction of increasing substrate rigidity. Prior research with micropatterned substrates has successfully limited cell motility to biaxial movement. Our goal is to develop microtopographic gradients which enable unidirectional control of cellular migration. |
